FYNN is a Manchester born musician, developing a unique and diverse sound by blending styles from multiple different genre’s, with the use of a six instrument loop pedal. Ska/reggae influences from the likes of Sublime and Sticky Fingers, to more alternative and indie inspirations from The Libertines and Jamie T can all be heard through parts of FYNN’s music.
FYNN’s musical journey began at the age of 10 when he picked up his uncle’s drumsticks. From then on, he took up the guitar and soon after began songwriting, eventually touring the UK in his late teens and early twenties with a band. This extensive experience on the road helped him hone his craft and develop his unique musical style.
Returning to the music scene as a solo artist in late 2023, FYNN released his debut single I’ll Eat It Later, which was met with high praise within the Manchester community getting him slots at some of the most renowned venues and events such as; Sofar Sounds, Mrs Boons Tea Party and Band On The Wall. The debut was also picked up by multiple radio stations, most notably XS Manchester, who made it their ‘Record Of The Week’.
FYNN’s Latest single ‘Comatose’ followed suit with his debut, gaining critical acclaim and extensive radio play. The track features FYNN’s first music video which was produced in a single day all in one shot.
Comatose, the second single release from FYNN, dropped on all platforms on Friday the 14th June. Recorded at Pinhole Sound Studios in Manchester, this track is a precursor to his eagerly anticipated upcoming EP.
"Comatose" showcases a rich blend of reggae-inspired instrumentation, featuring keys, organ, and guitar to create a captivating rhythmic sway. The song's lyrics delve deep into the physical and emotional journey of experiencing panic attacks and the process of overcoming them.
Drawing influence from a diverse array of artists such as Sticky Fingers, The Streets, Sublime, Tash Sultana, and Ren, "Comatose" weaves together multiple genres to produce a unique and powerful sound.
FYNN’s debut single I’ll Eat It later, came out in March 2024 and has since been a stand out favourite amongst fans at live performances and on Spotify.
The song is about burning the candle at both ends and forcing yourself into a state of perpetual mania.
